Belltown Update: Lewis Builds, Lewis Demolishes

McGurie Building, excavating foundation.JPG

Not much left of the McGuire Building apartments, is there? Lease Crutcher Lewis, the contractor in charge of the demolition project (whose website is "LewisBuilds.com") put up a temporary 30-foot wall around the site on Second Avenue between Wall and Cedar to mitigate the noise as the giant impacters tear into the building's foundation. (We've written several posts about this project; this one describes the process in some detail.)

Couple more weeks and the project will be done. No word on what's coming next for this coveted Belltown block.
