Cute overload in Franciacorta

Church in Franciacorta.JPG

Arrived in Italy noonish and was whisked by uniformed BMW chauffeur to the Relais Franciacorta, on the slopes overlooking Lake Iseo. Over the 14-hour journey, Delta had fed me several meals of its patented amalgam of sawdust and cardboard, so I was ready for some real food.

This is crema di piselli, cream of fresh garden peas, with crayfish and prawns, cherry tomatoes and a drizzle of olive oil. Accompanied by a glass (well, two glasses) of Berlucchi's Cuvée 61, a sparkling wine that got its name because it recalls "the fun of the 60s." Gotta say, I could get used to the Italian lifestayle.
