Bankers fire owner of Harry's Bar

VENICE--It's probably the most famous bar in the world, and when you pay 16.50 euros (almost $22) for a Bellini you're not just paying for a glass of Prosecco with a slug of white peach puré. No, as we've written before here on Cornichon, you're buying the whole history of the place. And an illustrious history it is: a bar off the Piazzo San Marco, washed in golden light, named for the American dude who bankrolled it; a drink named for a Venetian painter.

But, it turns out, too costly for the Cipriani family to maintain. That barman, the one who expertly mixes up the Bellinis, apparently earns a freaking fortune. Cipriani's bankers have announced they're taking over the labor negotiations. Guy only needs nine fingers to pour a drink, right?
