Carnival in Venice

Stormy Venice-001.JPG

Blustery in the light of day, sultry after dark: Venice, La Serenissima, embodies the world. Gay and frivolous, somber and threatening, Carnival is both a time for penance and a time for sin. In other words, it's like almost any other week in Italy, full of contrasts and contradictions.

Why do we bring this up now? Because it's another gray day here in the Emerald City, and it's fun to travel on the electronic highway from Belltown to the Grand Canal. Hai capito? You get that?
